All Quiet on the Western Front - first US edition

by Erich Maria Remarque

Remarque's classic anti-war story. Read this and you will be a pacifist for life! Excerpt from the dedication at the beginning of the book, "It will try simply to tell of a generation of men who, even though they may have escaped its shells, were destroyed by the war." First published in Germany in 1929.

Book has taupe boards, with the author's name in read on the spine and front boards, and the title in black beneath. Top edge inked red. Clean inside, minor page edge browning. Very good plus, especially considering its age.

Jacket is ragged along the entire top edge, with a tear on the front panel, and a large chipped area inside the front. Cover art by Paul Wenck shows the bust of a German infantryman.
