The Annotated Dracula - first-thus US edition
by Bram Stoker; editor: Leonard Wolf
This nicely-done edition has illustrated end papers, makes abundant use of drawings and photographs throughout, and is nicely ornamented by the artist Satty both by full page drawings and in-the-margins sketches accompanying the profuse annotations. There is also a thorough map appendix. This is the definitive annotated edition of Dracula. With introduction, notes and bibliography by Leonard Wolf, this is a '1st thus' edition, quarto-sized black cloth with gilt titles, 'Dracula' embossed on the front board; 362 pp.
The book is in great shape and appears to have always been well-cared for; it is clean and clear of any previous owner markings. It has been gently read multiple times; nicely broken-in spine with no splits. The dust jacket is bright red with a black illustration of Castle Dracula against a starry night, by Satty, from page 320 in the book; price-intact at $14.95 with minimal spine sunning, this jacket appears to have always been mylar-protected. Both book and jacket are as good as can be expected for a thirty-year-old book. Hence very good plus. A lovely, collectible copy.
