Black Like Me - first US edition - third printing

by John Howard Griffin

"Black Like Me" by John Griffin is the incredible, true story of a man who, through injections, turned himself from Caucasian to Negro in the 1960's South. Reading this book was 'de rigor' growing up in the '60's.  I remember reading this as an adolescent and being very moved. The book is a stark look at a time in US history which is hopefully fading faster than my jacket cover!  Portions first published in 'Sepia' magazine in 1960.

This near fine third printing of Griffin's classic is very clean, straight and sharp, with burlap-type boards and black embossed letters and dots on the spine and cover; with a bright dust jacket showing some rubbing along outer edge and some very faint smudging of back panel; some edge wear; price intact.  Very presentable copy of this classic '60's read.
