The Daughter of Time - first UK edition-third printing

by Josephine Tey

The author's classic observation of the deaths of the Two Princes (were they murdered by Richard III?) as seen through the eyes of a recuperating Detective-Inspector for Scotland Yard, who reconstructs the crime with his critical, policeman's eye. Nicely done.

Book is red boards with black lettering on spine and a black motif in on the front boards. End papers show the family descendents of Ralph Nevill, 1st Earl of Westmorland. Nice tight binding, some spine slant, top edges dusty, PD embossed in rear board, some edge bumps, clean inside, no marks anywhere, hence Very Good.

The dust wrapper, difficult to find in any condition for this title, is not price clipped. There is a bit of wear at the folds, but the largest defect is that the bottom half of the spine is missing; internal tape repair. For its age and scarcity VG-.
