First published in this superb translation by Richard Aldington in 1930, this piece was written in the middle of the fourteenth century, and contains one hundred stories told in ten days by seven ladies and three young men, prompted by the horror of a universal pestilence which had already decimated. Illustrated by Rockwell Kent. Ltd. edition of 1500 SIGNED AND NUMBERED BY ROCKWELL KENT (45/1500). 2 vols. in red cloth HC with shiny gilt lettering on spine and in a paper slipcase with full-page illustration on front and back of the cover. Includes 32 full-page color. Illustration shows the cover of the slipcase, which is just starting to fray on one corner.
