The Flight of the Heron - later UK edition

by D. K. Broster

This is the first novel in what is referred to as 'The Jacobite Trilogy', and the subsequent fortunes of the characters in this story can be followed in "The Dark Mile" and "The Gleam in the North", presenting what must certainly be one of the truest and most moving pictures of Scottish Jacobitism during the dark years which followed Culloden.

Book is blue boards with gold printing on the spine; ex-library. There are tape marks on the boards and there rear end paper is missing. The dust jacket is in fine condition, not price clipped (21s), with spine fading.

This is a nice hard back to complete the trilogy in the Heinemann duodecimo (12mo) versions.
