The Gleam in the North - 1947 UK printing

by D. K. Broster

A sequel to Miss Broster's "The Flight of the Heron", presenting what must certainly be one of the truest and most moving pictures of Scottish Jacobitism during the dark years which followed Culloden. This is the second in what is referred to as 'The Jacobite Trilogy'.

Book is blue boards with silver printing on the spine. The spine is a bit rolled, and there is a label inside from the previous owner, to whom a partially indecipherable inscription has been written by in 'Scottish'. Without the personalizations, the book would be fine.

The jacket shows minimal tearing or edge wear, price intact at 8s6d.
