First book of the trilogy relating the historical relationship between England and Wales. The story of Joanna, King John's bastard daughter, and her marriage to Llewelyn the Great. King John was the son of Henry Plantagenet and Eleanor of Aquitaine and brother of Richard the Lionhearted. Rich detail brings to life the England, France, and Wales of the thirteenth century, and the clash of cultures of the Celtic and Norman worlds. Nicely written.

Book is cream-colored boards with matching cloth spine and emerald-green stamped lettering on spine, maps on front and rear end papers. Previous owner's library label on inside fly. Dust jacket is in near fine condition, with illustration by Kinuko Craft.
