This is a nicely illustrated copy of Eric Knight's classic dog story. Cyrus Baldridge provides ten lush full-page illustrations in addition to numerous monochrome partial-page sketches that ornament chapter headings and key plot elements. If you are going to read this story, this is the copy to read. 

Book is green boards with gold spine lettering, book club dot on rear board. Has great two-page wide illustrations for the end papers, clean inside and out. Some tiny edge bumps, all corners sharp. Binding is very tight. Nice shape.

Jacket is fine except for fading to the spine and a chip from lower front edge. Although not large, the previous owner 'repaired' this with tape on both sides of the page. I'm not going to further hurt the jacket by taking it off.
