This is the fourth of 4 novels in a series of histories about England that Costain wrote over a 10-year period. This volume deals with the years 1377 to 1485 when the Wars of the Roses were fought, and the controversy surrounding Richard and the alleged murder of the two princes in the Tower. This is the time of Henry the Fifth, Henry the Eighth, and Richard III. 

Book has taupe boards with a gold crown embossed on the cover, gold on red spine, in near-fine condition; sharp corners, slight spine sag; states, "FIRST EDITION". Illustrated end papers, internal 2-page map of the Battle of Agincourt. 

Jacket is in very good shape with a minor closed tear on bottom of the front panel, some rubbing and minor edge wear; price of $5.75 is intact. This is a nice, collectible copy of the fourth of the "Pageant of England" series.
