The Magnificent Century - first US edition

by Thomas B. Costain

This is the second of 4 novels in a series of histories about England that Costain wrote over a 10-year period. This volume primarily covers the long reign of King Henry III, from 1216 to 1272 and his queen, Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Book has red boards with a gold lion embossed on the cover, gold on blue spine, in very good condition; front corners slightly bent; states, "FIRST EDITION", internal 2-page family tree, showing the royal descendents of Henry and Eleanor.

Jacket is in very good shape with some foxing on the front panel, some rubbing and minor edge wear, and tiny tears, especially at folds; price of $4.50 is intact. This is a nice, collectible copy of the second of four books in the "Pageant of England" series. Tough to find in this condition.
