This is a wonderful beginning book to a great series, a colorful, passionate love story crossing two hundred years of Scottish history.  It starts when Claire, a WWII nurse, slips in time from post-WWII Scotland, to the time of Bonny Prince Charlie. Very readable, bawdy in places, a great escapist piece of modern time-slip fiction.

First editions are scarce.  This one is in exceptionally collectible condition, and signed by Diana Gabaldon on the title page.  (I personally collected the signature). I have met her twice, and she is just very funny, friendly, and nice! This is her first book.

Book is near fine, corners sharp, no dents, spine straight and tight. Red boards with black cloth spine, gold letters. Dust jacket is near fine, with no noticeable defects. Signed by Diana on the title page.
