The Players - first US edition

by Stephanie Cowell

Tracing Shakespeare's path of creativity, we follow him through his apprentice years and conclude before the great plays that would earn him his fame. We watch as Shakespeare writes his wonderful sonnets, plunging himself into the aloof, young Earl of Southampton's life, and as he is falls into the tempestuous love triangle between himself, Southampton, and the Italian musician Emilia Bassano. Nice story, with great period detail. The author is a former classical singer, balladeer and educator.

Book is red boards with black cloth spine, lettered in red, in fine condition. The jacket is in very good condition, except for rubbing of the flat finish, it would be fine.
